I used JVs. The gas carts goes faster than the electric, but they are loud.

Be sure to get an electric one. The gas powered ones are loud and can be smelly with exhaust.

Yes they are only 3 blocks from Front St and usually have reps that meet all ships but you might find it more convenient to reserve ahead of time.

For those that have rented them before, how easy is it to find parking if you just want to get out and snap a few pictures? We want to tour and get out at points of interest. Also, it seems like electric over gas is the best option. Will the battery last for 4 hours?

You will have no problems with the battery lasting the duration of your rental but keep in mind that the Gem cars require the same parking space as any other car and parking near Duval is limited and expensive.

 

As long as you keep that in mind you will be fine.

We have rented before. We had the same idea you have. The parking for us was a little rough. There is very little easy parking, especially close to attractions. It will depend on how busy the city is as well. Sometimes you can get out and snap some pictures, especially if you leave someone with the cart. That might not be what you want to do though. We rented electric. It can be done, but not always as convenient as it should be.
