Canadian Sunset Posted February 3, 2018 #1 Share Posted February 3, 2018 In February 2019 we will be on the 17 day circle Hawaii cruise on Eurodam. Does HA still have many formal nights? We’ve been sailing with Viking Ocean lately and it’s been ‘smart casual’ every night. Just want to know what’s expected. sunnygidget Posted February 3, 2018 #2 Share Posted February 3, 2018 Check your boarding pass, it indicates how many "Gala" nights you should expect.
Rare Lady Arwen Posted February 3, 2018 #3 Share Posted February 3, 2018 They are now called Gala nights and formal wear is not necessary, unless you love to dress up. Many people still do. That being said, for men, long pants and a collared shirt are all that's really necessary. Woman seem to know how to dress for all occasions and venues. Please do a search on these board for "dress code" and you will have an entire days worth of reading. This is an often heated discussion, so you might want to get the popcorn. You can always check the HAL website where the dress code is laid out in great detail. You will probably have 2-3 Gala nights if your cruise is over 7 nights and only 2 if a 7 night cruise. You will love Eurodam, one of favourite ships!

Krazy Kruizers Posted February 3, 2018 #6 Share Posted February 3, 2018 You should have 3 Gala nights. On our 21 day repositioning cruise we only had 3 Gala nights. There were very few men in suits and tuxedos. Men wore slacks and collared shirts in the dining room and specialty restaurants.
