Can’t wait to hear your impressions, those of you sailing after the dry dock!

Didn't know it when we booked it, but we will be on the cruise cruise post-dry dock on March 9th.  Hopefully they get everything done on time.

We're on that cruise as well! @PlanoDebbie are you from Plano? We're in Van Alstyne. Driving down Friday morning.

When y'all get back, please post in this thread and tell us what your impressions were. Pics would be nice too. 🙂 I'm sure there will still be some minor things they are still working on, but I know I'd be very interested to see what all has changed.

Yup, we're from Plano.  Friday is our last day of school before Spring Break, so we're not driving down until Friday evening.  I'm hoping for good weather and a ship that's not a Dry Dock Disaster like the Pride was.  Since this was the ONLY week we were looking at for cruises, I had no idea that Freedom is in Dry Dock until our cruise.

What are you doing in our 3 ports?

Cozumel - Nachi Cocom

Roatan - Bodden Tours - Fun-n-Sun

Belize - Maybe stay on the ship.  Might go into port for a drink or two.  Not my favorite port.

We're visiting a friend on Cozumel, Lamanai Mayan Ruins & River Boat Safari in Belize, and Tabyana Beach Day & Gumbalimba in Roatan.

found a couple more on IG. Wondering if that interior shot, is from the promenade or one of the MDR's?? I can't quite place it.

That last interior shot is a view into the casino, i tthink. It would be from walking from the back, the band would be on your right, the bar right behind that wall, and the crane machine just out of view. That's my best guess.

I'm sure they will. Did you know the March 9th cruise will not leave Galveston until 6pm?

Yeah.  Our boarding time is 2:30.  At first I was thinking maybe they were changing all of the Galveston cruises to 6 pm departure to allow crew more time to prep the ship and clean the cabins.  Then I noticed the other sailings for the Freedom were all back to 4:00 pm.  That's when I really started searching around and found out the Freedom will be coming out of dry dock right before our cruise.  Seeing all of the issues with Pride after Dry Dock, I'm a bit concerned.

Does anyone have a good idea as to what time the Freedom would need to leave it's Dry Dock in Freeport in order to get back to Galveston and be ready for passengers to board on Saturday afternoon?

I plan on obsessively looking at the ship tracker starting on Thursday to see when it is finally en route to Galveston.

Please post any update you can find.  I have been checking constantly as we are on this cruise as well and I'm worried the ship won't be finished in time.  I asked John on FB, but he never answered that specific question.

Don't worry she will be back to take you on vacation!! Try marine traffic to track her. It could be the reason for the late departure, to account for any considerations... Have a great cruise!

We got this email yesterday.I purchased FTTF ,but now I’m not sure it will be of use to us at embarkation.

It still will. *all* boarding is just shifted to the right, but FTTF still get to board whenever they arrive, with a priority before general guests. The 'no exceptions' is just saying FTTF can't board at the 1130 time cause the ship won't be ready. Should still also guarantee bags in the rooms first.

Thanks for the update,

Don't know why we didn't get an email, perhaps because we didn't chose our FTTF time until last week.  I had noticed by then the times had moved back about an hour from what they were a week or two before.  Looks like we will be a go, my kids will be happy to hear it.

Thanks,

I had been checking the same and they still list the boat in the Bahamas, thus my concerns.  Looks like we will be headed out though so that's a relief!  I appreciate your considerate and helpful information.

It only takes 2 days to get from Bahamas at 20 knots, so as long as they leave Thursday, no concerns. 🙂

I didn't get this email either.  I would think that Carnival would also post it on their website as an important document in my booking.  Don't see anything in there either.  How does Carnival expect everyone to know this information unless it's sent out to everyone.

We had FTTF on a cruise that was delayed by an hour due to weather a few years back. We needed it more that time than we ever had before!! The place was a mad house!!! I think half of the people just went ahead and showed up anyway and there were lines all the way down the front of the building. We still walked right in, checked in, and waited for FTTF to be called. So much less hassle than everyone else had!!
