ewt715 Posted February 11, 2018 #1 Share Posted February 11, 2018 I have use the escort service in the past to disembark worked pretty well. Has anyone had any experience using the embarkation handicapped escort service when embarking on the Brilliance form the Port of Tampa Whom did you see n the pier to arrange this or does it have to be reserved online?? Any comment would be helpful Thanks
cb at sea Posted February 11, 2018 #2 Share Posted February 11, 2018 If you will need wheelchair assistance to board the ship, it's a good idea to let them know in advance...the "special needs" dept. can take your info. You will arrive, they will bring the next available wheelchair to you, and off you go. I'm figuring since you've done this, you will have onboard wheelchair/scooter arranged already. Snit13 Posted February 11, 2018 #3 Share Posted February 11, 2018 We have used wheel chair assistance at Port of Tampa on 2 occasions. I sent form to special needs. We used valet parking and then reporter to the security area. Both times they have ushered us directly into the security line and did not make us stand in the line. After passing thru security the first check in desk is for passengers needing wheel chairs. We had to walk thru security first. The chairs are then issued on first come first serve basis. There were only 4 chairs available the last time thus we had to sit and wait to be taken to the ship. Very professional people working that area but make certain to get your name on the list immediately to reserve your space.
