Questions about Alaska Cruise

Does anyone know which side is the best for sightseeing on the White Pass railroad in Skagway. Going up the mountain from the port.

Allan Marine is who Princess books their Juneau whale watching excursions with. You can book with them on your own but the savings aren't significant. We have done 3 whale watching excursions booked through Princess with AM and would book another in a heartbeat. Their guides know their stuff and their captains know where to find whales. Their boats are spacious and clean - everybody gets a good view. On our last visit to Juneau we booked a visit to a dog sled puppy camp thru Princess which was fun. The visit was about 2 hours long and we went on a cart ride through the forest and then got to play with some puppies. Downtown Juneau is super walkable and has lots of stores and restaurants to visit if you just want to wander around (The Twisted Fish restaurant is excellent, and neigbouring Taku is a great place to pick up souvenirs and smoked salmon!) Oh and if Libby Riddles will be a guest speaker on your ship, be sure to attend - she's got some fantastic stories about the iditarod!

I've done both ways and didn't notice much difference

once it was so fogged we couldn't see anything at all

this is a wonderful tirp

you can also move around and go out on the "deck"

Whi Or did you do a shorter tour?ch tour did you do with Chilkoot in Skagway? They have a Bennett tour that goes to Emerald Lake and also a White Pass and Yukoin tour for 7 1/2 hours

7 1/2 hours is too long for me. I try to max out any tour at 6 hours. I get bored after 5, but that's just me
