TeeRick Posted February 22, 2018 #1 Share Posted February 22, 2018 We will be in Sydney toward the end of March. We are looking for advice on a beach day. We are staying in the CBD area. We would like to know if there are Day Pass type resorts or beach clubs near Sydney? Or perhaps just a public beach but one where you can rent chairs and umbrellas for the day. Transportation to get there?
Northern Aurora Posted February 22, 2018 #2 Share Posted February 22, 2018 Have you considered taking a ferry from Circular Quay over to Manly Beach? Lovely trip.
CoopColbie Posted February 22, 2018 #3 Share Posted February 22, 2018 I second Manly Beach. It's a public beach that has a hire company operating where you can pick up chairs and umbrellas for the day.
Rare MMDown Under Posted February 23, 2018 #4 Share Posted February 23, 2018 All beaches in Australia are public. Sydney has lots of lovely rock pools on its beaches, such as Bondi Beach. You can get temporary membership at Icebergers, overlooking the rock pool and the beach, as well as North Bondi RSL. You can buy a drink and/or a meal, while you enjoy the spectacular beach and ocean views. You can also rent beach chairs at Bondi Beach, but this beach can be very popular. PHOENIXfire Posted February 23, 2018 #7 Share Posted February 23, 2018 We are getting off the Sea Princess and staying in Manly post cruise. Looking like a great choice. The promenade and wharf ferry area looks like lots of options for food and shopping. Staying a Sebel Manly. Are there any restaurant recommendations for causal dinning and seafood. Found Hugo's and The Fish monger on Google.

Found Hugo's and The Fish monger on Google. Manly Fish Market, 27 Wentworth Street, 1 min from beach, open 7 days. Market Lane, parallel to The Corso, has small inexpensive eateries. There is an information bureau at the end of the wharf ferry which has a lot of useful tourist information on Manly.

ozscotart Posted February 24, 2018 #11 Share Posted February 24, 2018 Thanks . Adding this to my list. I am a seafood nut, raised around the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland! In that case, can I suggest Doyles, we like the bistro on the wharf at Watson’s Bay, ferry from Circular Quay, nothing like eating seafood looking over the harbour, very casual and great views. http://www.doyles.com.au/15846+0+beach-restaurant-location.htm Sent from my iPhone using Forums
