specialty dining

We have gotten half price for day one specialty dinning on princess by booking it at the restaurant once we board. On Royal Caribbean you can book a buy one get one and a first night night done right on the cruise planner before sailing. It is pretty easy to get a free dinner through a travel agent as a perk.

I just heard that you may get a discount for specialty dining if you book it for your first night of cruising. Has anyone else ever heard of this? Is it true? Thanks in advance.

Speciality dining is usually about 25%+ off, if booked on board for the first night, on Celebrity.

We usually dine in one of the specialty restaurants on embarkation evening on Princess. We have never received a discount.

Also, on Princess, though, Suites passengers receive a complementary specialty restaurant dinner on embarkation evening (for cruises longer than 6 days). So, that means that several tables are automatically occupied.
