nancyshaw Posted April 15, 2018 #1 Share Posted April 15, 2018 Our cruise is next year. It is 6 months away from final payment. Now there is a better promotion. There are no available cabins in our category. Is there anything I can do to get the better promo?
nancyshaw Posted April 15, 2018 Author #2 Share Posted April 15, 2018 Just got my answer. Called Viking. Once you book, that is what you get. Since there are no longer cabins available in the Cat, there is no option of rebooking. So we are happy with what we have.

The only way to make changes is to cancel your current booking and then make a completely new one. Viking does not play the same games that other cruise lines play. Viking has said that they are re-writing cruising and "guaranteed lowest pricing" it seems is not part of the re-write. As guests of the cruise line, we have two choices: we can accept the way they do business or we can take our business elsewhere. And Viking has enough people who want to sail with them that they do not need to change their business model.

YES, I am so tired with all the game playing of other lines and really appreciate clear rules.
RJ2002 Posted April 15, 2018 #5 Share Posted April 15, 2018 We actually "played this game" for our recent Star Mediterranean cruise. Had to pay $100 per person to cancel and rebook, but saved $800 per person, so it was a worthwhile exercise. Our amazing TA was somehow able to snag our original cabin, so we were very happy.
