  1. Regent is also announcing changes today for its 2022 WC. They've communicated to guests apparently, but their website is not yet updated. Playing devil's advocate, these types of changes are a huge effort for the cruise lines. Probably will take a few days to settle.
  2. Yes, I think that's a possibility. Following this closely as we have Singapore-Mumbai-Dubai booked on the Moon for Feb/Mar next year. If Moon doesn't transit to Asia, our cruise might be cancelled. Wait and see. I hope your situation works out somehow.
  3. I count three apologies in the original Silversea statement, which was posted on August 26 by LauraS. IMPORTANT MESSAGE: From Silversea Cruises We've been asked to share this message from Silversea Cruises. It appears below in it's entirety and unedited in any way: We apologize as we are currently experiencing a system outage. Our technology team is working urgently to resolve this issue and we will provide an update as soon as we have additional information on the restoration timeline. We sincerely apologize for this interruption and inconvenience. For urgent matters and guests sailing in the next 7 days, please reach us via direct or private message on our social media channels. If you are in transit to or from one of our vessels, have air booked with Silversea, and are experiencing an air travel-related emergency, you may contact +1-786-275-7089. For all other inquiries, please contact us via social media direct or private message. For enquiries regarding final payment on existing bookings, please note that the Early Booking Bonus deadline has been extended to September 3rd, 2021. Our Reservations team will get directly in touch with travel agents and booked guests in the next few days. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.
  4. And, if you usually use a TA, you used to be able to transfer the booking to the TA and take advantage of any benefits they may offer. Hopefully that has not changed.
  5. Welcome to CC. Silversea had an IT issue. See this thread:
  6. To follow on my previous comment about Oceania food in the GDR, not only is the selection not as varied as Compass Rose, but we found on our most recent O cruises that there was a noticeable repetitiveness in the offered selections. We did find the quality of GDR food to be pretty much on par with Regent, just not nearly the variety as what is available on Regent.
  7. Not all Americans shy away from Asian cuisine. 😉 Really enjoying these reports from the Muse.
  8. Wonderful report DaisyUK. Hope you can continue to share your experiences as time permits. It is not surprising to hear your comments about the crew/staff. I'm sure they are as overjoyed as the guests. Who is the GM and CD? Enjoy your cruise!
  9. This is the way we feel as well. The food on both lines is very good, but the variety in the MDR (Compass Rose) on Regent wins hands-down IMO. However, I will say that one of my favorites is the 'always available' rotisserie chicken on O. Simple but delicious.
  10. Mine is up as well, and able to navigate. Maybe try the usual steps? Log off and log back on, restart computer, delete the Silversea cookies?
  11. It's an independent airport lounge program. My Chase card comes with a complimentary membership. There aren't as many opportunities to use it within the USA, but there are lots of lounges internationally. https://www.prioritypass.com/ Rachel, really enjoyed your reports.
  12. Agree, not a good sign. We'll have to see what Monday brings, and how individual EU countries will react. I wonder if vaccination status might also end up being a consideration. On a related note, and straying somewhat off topic, I see on a ship tracking website that Shadow has left Reykjavik. It may have been discussed elsewhere on the board, but I'm guessing it is traveling without passengers on to Venice?
  13. Great reports! Glad you made it onboard and are now ready to enjoy your Galapagos adventure. The photos from the ship are beautiful. So nice to be reading a trip report. Thanks for taking the time to share the experience.
  14. Thank you for sharing. We have not actually received anything in writing from Silversea yet, just a comment from one of their reps on the phone. We are on the Shadow's Lisbon-Rome segment, so perhaps they have not issued any notifications yet. Sadly, we are expecting our North Africa stops to be scratched, similar to what happened on the Grand Voyage itinerary.
  15. New to Silversea and have our first cruise coming up on the Shadow. In a recent call with Silversea regarding excursions, we were told that for Spain and Italy, guests would be required to be on a Silversea excursion in order to leave the ship while in port. Has anyone else been made aware of this restriction? I know that things can change at anytime.
  16. There are some third party sites that link user-uploaded pictures to specific suites/cabins. I think Bill does fantastic job on the Regent Suite Guru spreadsheet, which he created and maintains on a purely volunteer basis for everyone's benefit. Thank you Bill!
  17. Our TA reported having a very busy day yesterday. 👍
  18. These are important points. Start the process early, before you leave home. We've left the ship early a couple of times, once in Shanghai and another time in St. Kitts. It can definitely be done, just make sure to arrange it all in advance.
  19. Refund of deposit was credited on July 31, 2021
  20. Yes, maintenance stopped by a couple of times to make adjustments.
  21. This was our suite on our first Regent cruise. We experienced no issues with noise. There are suites above and below you on decks 11 and 9. The door at the end of the corridor leads to the bridge, and if I recall correctly, the captain’s cabin is adjacent to suite 1001. Really loved 1003 and would not hesitate to book it again. Having said that, it did get a little warm during the day. However, this was an Amazon River cruise and it was extremely hot outside. We were able to maintain a comfortable temperature if we kept the drapes mostly closed during the day.
  22. Just add... this was just a deposit (although a substantial one), made back in October 2019. Called Chase about a possible dispute, but it was too old.
  23. Another addition to the deposit list, sorry to say... Scheduled sail date: August 1, 2021 (cancelled by Crystal April 1, 2021) Refund requested: April 2, 2021
  24. This is all so screwed up. For me, I would not sail out of Florida if the cruise lines were not able to enforce their vaccination policy.
