Mimuls72 Posted April 19, 2018 #1 Share Posted April 19, 2018 Hi! We are going on our second cruise with RCCL. This time with Symphony of the seas from Barcelona. I would love to get some tips about the excursions on this route. What is worth to do. Any experience here? We are 2 adults and a 10 year old kid. Thank you so much! capriccio Posted April 19, 2018 #2 Share Posted April 19, 2018 Welcome to cruise critic! We visited some of the ports on a princess cruise last fall. In Barcelona we took a half day tour (including the Olypmic Stadium and Park Guell, both of which should appeal to your child) with Barcelona Day Tours that dropped us off at La Sagrada Familia after touring the outside with the guide. We had lunch in the neighborhood and then returned to the church - do not miss the inside! - for an audio tour (make sure you purchase tickets on line in advance or you will be waiting in a long line). https://barcelonadaytours.com/ and http://www.sagradafamilia.org/en/ In Naples we toured with APTours. They have a variety of tours and I'm sure Pompeii or Herculaneum and Mount Vesuvius would appeal to the entire family. https://www.aptours.it/ I would also check the European Ports of Call Board - there is lots of good information there. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=
Rare Essiesmom Posted April 19, 2018 #3 Share Posted April 19, 2018 Get a copy of Rick Steves' Mediterranean Cruise Ports. He will tellyou what there is to do in the ports, how much you can do in the time you have, how to DIY. He covers all of your ports except Palma de Mallorca. For some ports, Pompeii - Rome...He has free audio tours on his website for ipod/mp3 and you can print basic maps to accompany it. EM

This link should take you to the Roll Calls for Symphony of the Seas, scroll down and find the date for your cruise and you may find others who are also planning excursions. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1092
