Celebrity - See Antigua by Sea

Anyone taken this tour recently? We are looking for a catamaran snorkelling tour that includes lunch and is reasonably priced. The lobster sailings look good but they don't appear to do much snorkelling which is higher on our priority list than lobster. Any recommendations would be helpful. TIA

Take a Cat trip to Cades Reef. Best spot in Antigua, but the reef is slowly dying. Snorkel it before it disappears.

Highly recommend the See Antigua by Sea with the Excellence, one of our favorite excursions. After snorkeling Green Island and sailing in that blue, blue water, motoring through the harbor is neat.

A nice day!

Not sure which company or boat this Celebrity tour uses...is it always Excellence? Any way to find out? Description does sound good.

Any recommendations on a company that does this?

The tour is usually about 5/6 hours, soft drinks before snorkel, for safety reasons. Then BBQ lunch with open alcoholic bar from lunch to end of sail, accompanied by music with dancing.

All kit supplied with a competent crew to ensure you have a great experience.

We took this tour in mid-April and it was absolutely fabulous. Fun onboard the boat, snorkelling was easy and fun, and lunch served al fresco was lovely. One of the best excursions we have taken. Glad we took it through the ship as it is a fairly long day.

Let's see if I can link a photo. This is the deserted island they took us to. We hung out on the beach' date=' snorkelled and had lunch here.

Island looks nice and peaceful! That cat looks huge! How many people were on your excursion? Did you find it crowded at all? I realize it's a cruise ship excursion but hope it's not packed!

The ship will maximise their revenue.

Have heard it's been 60 plus in the past.

Bun fights for food and drink.

Lots of room on the cat and plenty of seating options whether you wanted under cover (out of the sun) or on deck. Perhaps 30 or so people on our tour? Yes, they could have packed more people on but we had a fabulous day and didn't feel crowded.

It will be more crowded some days, we had a small group. We stopped at Green Island for snorkeling but didn’t get any beach time. The highlight for us was the sail around Antigua and motoring through the harbors.

I'm glad they have both options for shade/sun. Glad they didn't pack them on and looks like plenty of room for 30 on there!!

Personally, I'd rather spend more time snorkelling than on the beach so I'd be fine with missing that part. We're also looking forward to the sail around the island...can't do the speed boat tour around because of chronic neck issues so this sounds perfect!

Thanks both of you for your info!

Cathy

We've taken this tour twice in the past year, that's how much we enjoyed it. Just want to mention that it can be a rough ride for a portion of the trip as others have commented. Pick a spot where you will feel most comfortable with that in mind from the get go. The crew will advise everyone to take a seat and remain there until they say otherwise. One time was very rough and the next time not quite as bad, so hard to tell in advance

When they get to Green Island is the snorkeling part of the tour, which is follow the guide. The reports of how many fish and quality of the snorkeling experiences differs. The beach is nice and isolated and the drinks and food are supplied at this point. Both of which are great. It's a great tour and we're considering it again for our upcoming visit to Antiqua. Enjoy your day!

Yes the ride through the Atlsntic to Green Island is rougher and you are sailing fast. We all stood up on the upper deck during that time with no problem but most folks would be sitting. The rest of the sail was very smooth in that blue, blue water...
