fstuff1 Posted June 12, 2018 #1 Share Posted June 12, 2018 NCL Bliss in Oct to Mexican Riviera (8day). i never bought trip insurance before because i always arrive at least the day before the cruise. but this time due to work, i might have to fly in the morning of my cruise. i want insurance to cover the missed cruise if my flight is delayed/canceled or if there's heavy traffic between airport and cruise terminal. (Los Angeles). also want insurance to cover airline change fees for my flight back. cruise = $850, flight = $400 i have good health insurance from work so not looking for additional medical coverage. What type of insurance do i need? and which insurance company? is there a website that will give me quotes from multiple trip insurance companies? thx

klfrodo Posted June 12, 2018 #3 Share Posted June 12, 2018 Your first issue would be called Trip Delay Most policies have anywhere from a 5 hour delay minimum up to a policy having a 12 hour delay minimum. Having said that, you ant just turn around and go home. You MUST attempt to catch up to the ship. At your expense. Lack of passport is not their problem. Then, when you return you can file a claim for reimbursement of expenses.
candydane Posted June 13, 2018 #4 Share Posted June 13, 2018 Most health plans from work don't cover medical outside the US so be sure to verify you'll be covered in Mexico. Also be sure your health plan from work would cover evacuation costs if you have to be medivaced to a hospital or back to the US.
