Open Bar

We are going on our first (with) Norwegian cruise in a few weeks. Can we get some pointers and what is the "Open bar" about?

What ship are you on? One or two of the smaller Norwegian ships have open bar, and all the ships have the Ultimate Beverage Package which is either for sale, or you could have selected as a free perk during a sale (which seems to be always running). The two operate differently, so to help you we need to know which you have.

It means you start with a bloody mary when you wake up, then maybe a mimosa, then a few beers, have a bushwhacker or two by the pool, then a few glasses of wine and a liquer before bed.
