Fogfog Posted July 3, 2018 #1 Share Posted July 3, 2018 Just noticed that NCL, Regent and Oceania are all owned by Apollo Any idea on if NCL will recognize Regent standing for loyalty/sailing? I realize NCL is a BIG drop for Regent--- just wondering if there is a way to bump up status etc TYIA
njhorseman Posted July 3, 2018 #2 Share Posted July 3, 2018 (edited) Just noticed that NCL, Regent and Oceania are all owned by Apollo Any idea on if NCL will recognize Regent standing for loyalty/sailing? I realize NCL is a BIG drop for Regent--- just wondering if there is a way to bump up status etc TYIA There is no reciprocity among the guest loyalty programs of the three cruise lines, so your status on any of the three is what you've earned on that particular cruise line regardless of your status on the others. For example, I am Platinum Plus on NCL but when I started cruising on Oceania I started on the bottom rung and did not receive any loyalty program boost on Oceania because of my NCL status. FYI, NCL, Regent and Oceania are all owned by Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd., a publicly traded corporation listed on the New York Stock Exchange. Apollo Management Holdings, while being NCLH's single largest institutional shareholder owning about 11% of NCLH's stock as of Dec 2017. (Apollo has subsequently sold a large number of shares and is no longer the largest NCLH institutional shareholder), has not been the "owner" of NCLH for some time, nor does Apollo Management control the board of directors as it did years ago. zqvol Posted July 4, 2018 #3 Share Posted July 4, 2018 It would be nice, but unfortunately it doesn't happen. I could use that extra 21 points from Regent on NCL.
garycarla Posted July 12, 2018 #4 Share Posted July 12, 2018 Bummer. Looking to take another cruise soon and bit more upscale. Viking Ocean spoiled us. Plat level with NCL and would consider one of the sister cruiselines. Will now widen my search. Yea, they cost a bit more, but the lack of casino means cruising will actually be cheaper. LOL!
