teacherman Posted July 7, 2018 #1 Share Posted July 7, 2018 Our 17 day cruise next summer has been cancelled on Rotterdam and switched to the Zuiderdam. I selected the cabin I wanted, but have been reassigned to a "similar" cabin. It is 7051, an inside. On the deck plan, it shows a large space to one side of this cabin. Do any of you know what it is? As this is a floor with many suites, I am concerned there may be much noise coming from that area, perhaps dish washing or something, which we have experienced on other ships. I have to call on Monday to accept the new booking. I am considering changing to either 6079, 6075, or 6071. Do any of you have any experience with these? Any information/advice is welcome. Thank you.

Do any of you know what it is?  7051 is sandwiched between 7049 and 7055, not next to "white space". Are you looking at Noordam deck plans? teacherman Posted July 7, 2018 Author #3 Share Posted July 7, 2018 MY MISTAKE. We are re-assigned to cabin 7055. We are considering moving to 7051 if there is a problem with the "open space".
fatcat04 Posted July 7, 2018 #4 Share Posted July 7, 2018 Also Zuiderdam 7051 has a youtube video as well just in case you had not seen it. Might help your choice.

B and J Posted July 7, 2018 #6 Share Posted July 7, 2018 The space is a galley for the Neptune Lounge. We have stayed in 7059 on our last two cruises and have reserved for September 2019. 7059 is across the hall and we never noticed much noise. Maybe being next to it you might, so would choose the middle cabin of the three inside.
knittinggirl Posted July 7, 2018 #7 Share Posted July 7, 2018 We had a corner aft on the Serenade of the seas w/ an open space like you described. We heard noise early each morning. Open spaces are often crew work areas.
AtlantaCruiser72 Posted July 8, 2018 #8 Share Posted July 8, 2018 I'd take 7051 as option #, then the deck 6 rooms as backups. The deck 6 rooms are bigger and do have a sofa HOWEVER the layout is sub-optimal - the front of the sofa is 12" or less from the foot of the bed - very awkward arrangement IMHO
