Don't know exactly why but MarineTraffic shows that she took a detour yesterday around mid-day off the coast of Oregon. Slowed from 21 plus knots down to around 13 knots and went northeast for an hour or so before resuming full speed and heading back south.

There was a medical evacuation yesterday via Coast Guard Helicopter

Interesting. We were on the 10-day AK cruise out of San Francisco, last September, On the second sea day after embarkation a crewman had to be evacuated by a Canadian Coast Guard helicopter.

Towards the end of the cruise, the captain made a presentation in the Princess Theater about helicopter evacuations in general and this one in particular. It was super interesting. I thought it was great that the captain shared this information that, frankly, I'd never considered before.

He also told us that the reports he had received were that the crewman was doing fine.

Oh, and while we were diverted in order to shorten the flight for the helicopter, we arrived on time to our first port.
