barbon2 Posted September 5, 2018 #1 Share Posted September 5, 2018 Hi, Does Oceania offer a bus or transport to Florence? We have been there before so we wouldn’t need a tour. Just curious what others have done. If necessary, we will hire a driver. Barb
Mura Posted September 5, 2018 #2 Share Posted September 5, 2018 It's a while since we've been to Livorno but they did offer a bus shuttle to Firenze. It's "do it yourself" once you get there. My objection to these (which I've never taken) has been with the time allowed. I know others have advocated taking the train from Livorno on your own. When we were there we didn't go into Firenze because we'd spent some days there on our own not long before. We joined a private group taking a tour to Pisa and Lucca which was lovely. I suggest checking the ship's offered tours for your cruise. I'm SURE there will be a bus transport to Firenze but they will have more details than I can give you. From there you can catch a bus to the train station for a journey to Florence. Another option is to try to find a cab from the port to the train station. A third option would be a transportation only excursion (paid) offered by Oceania to Florence.
Mura Posted September 5, 2018 #4 Share Posted September 5, 2018 Obviously different answers! My experience was quite a while ago so it may well be that O no longer offers a transport to Firenze. That strengthens my suggestion to check the offered tours at the website as well as checking with your roll call. Mura

Barb While there is no FREE shuttle there is a shuttle/transport to Florence for a fee https://www.oceaniacruises.com/Mediterranean-cruises/port-florence-LRN/excursions/#all or you can find other options for DIY touring They offer these fee based transfers in some other ports as well
marylizcat Posted September 5, 2018 #6 Share Posted September 5, 2018 What people are trying to say is that you would need to book the tour called ‘Florence on your Own’, at a cost. Sent from my iPad using Forums
tropicalkerry2002 Posted September 5, 2018 #7 Share Posted September 5, 2018 last year, we used Tuscany Bus.
Janet- Posted September 5, 2018 #8 Share Posted September 5, 2018 For our cruise in November "Florence on your Own" is priced at £133 for a 9.5 hour tour. Have you looked on your roll call to see if anyone is organising a private tour?

barbon2 Posted September 8, 2018 Author #10 Share Posted September 8, 2018 Thanks for all of your prompt answers. We have been to Florence before and just want to walk around the beautiful city. Last time we had a private driver, but this will not be necessary this time.
