Sushi on Five Embarkation Lunch

I will be boarding the Equinox on December 1, 2018.  Can any recent cruiser tell me whether Sushi on Five will be open for embarkation day lunch?  I received an email from Celebrity with a link to make advance specialty dining reservations, but it would not allow me to make a reservation for this lunch.

I've seen SO5 open around noon and I've seen it open around 4. It seems around noon is normal.  We ate lunch there enbarkation day on our last cruise.  It's always nearly empty, you dont ever need a reservation for Sushi on 5.

Hi Runon,

Wish I could say with certainty that Sushi on Five will be open. it "should" be, but I've seen times where it was not open for embarkation day Lunch. When Celebrity first rolled out Sushi on Five, it was open for Lunch every day, and we totally liked having this option on Port Days. For our last several sailings, Sushi on Five was only open for Lunch on Sea Days.

Yes,  SO5 is a la carte pricing but you can often negotiate a flat fee ($25 to $30 is pretty common).  They also have some great cocktails.  I'm a not a fan of the actual Sushi or Sashimi.  I love good sushi, I just don't find thier sushi to all that great.  The apps and the noodles are pretty good though.

On Constellation, on a future cruise, So5 opens 11:30am to 2:30pm and from 6pm to 10:30pm on embarkation day. [From the CelebrityCruises app, which still works with just few ships].

Good to know!  We will be on Silhouette in November, and were thinking about this for an embarkation day lunch.
