airguide Posted November 15, 2018 #1 Share Posted November 15, 2018 Are there any morning tours of old Havana. We are on Majesty of the Sea and it leaves 2 am on a Sat morning. Is there enough time to walk about and see the Cathedrals?
TBone2K Posted November 15, 2018 #2 Share Posted November 15, 2018 Might ask in the port of call section.
pizzalady1 Posted November 15, 2018 #3 Share Posted November 15, 2018 (edited) As TBone said, you should look at the Cuba Forum. Also look at a guide book to help you narrow down what you might like to do. There are many independent tours for what ever length you want. Do you want a walking tour, a driving tour in an old car? A combination? Do you want to just see Old Havana, or all of Havana? Google "Cuba tours" and you can start researching what you might like. pcur Posted November 16, 2018 #4 Share Posted November 16, 2018 We are on the Empress in January, and booked morning tours for both our Cuba ports. We wanted time to walk around after the tour, also. It appears you're overnight in Havana, and our morning tours end around 1 - 2 pm. A little info about taking tours in Cuba. The Cuban government doesn't care about what tours you take, but the US government DOES. It's hit-or-miss if they will question you upon re-entry into the US, or even after you're back. So, be sure to keep descriptive documents, ticket receipts, pictures, etc. that document where you went and what you did, if you are asked. Make sure at least one tour per port matched the US requirments: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/international-travel/before-you-go/travelers-with-special-considerations/cruise-ship-passengers.html
Trainer Posted November 16, 2018 #5 Share Posted November 16, 2018 We booked the old car touring for the morning in Cuba off Majesty. It was very well organized. We went by bus to a lot where many cars from the 50s were available. You could pick your own car and driver. Some drivers did not speak English, some did. If there were two people a guide went along and he could tell you about buildings. We also stopped at some notable places, such as Revolution Square, and the Nationale Hotel, where we had a drink. We enjoyed the day, especially since we had a1957 Chevrolet convertible, like one I used to have. We had a nice day although a little windy with the top down. I would definitely recommend this excursion which we booked through the ship.

They pick you up just around the corner from the terminal. This is what we are doing both mornings.
