A breeze of a Journey that was full of firsts

Arriving at the port, we made our way over to the bag drop which went easy peasy and then back to the garage where we parked on the 1st level.  We made our way over and in the building and over to the checkin and they were already on Zone 3 on the announcements.  After a painless quick check in we made our way on the ship.

Wrong side of the state but I’m sure you’ll enjoy it 🙂

Shoot me an email when you find yourself on the east coast. Now that you’re a Floridian, the next step is an annual pass to the parks.

It has already come up.....but I have more days on property in Disney then Minnie’s uncle.

Nice start.  Any pictures we can look forward to?

LOL, it does sound like a good idea.  Been playing around with the new load feature here.  Used to use tinypic, but it appears to be a dead site.

So this cruise was not only a Journey cruise it was also a Ultra casino cruise.  Not sure which he was here for, but we had the Senior Cruise Director and brand Ambassador John Heald on this cruise as well.  Here is a image map that was waiting for us of the cruise along with all the ports of call.

There was lots of talk both here and on FB of people asking John whether people entitled (Diamonds, Plats, FTTF) could even though asked not to could still drop off their bags in their rooms (even if rooms not ready).  We decided we did not need to push the envelope, so instead went up to grab a bit to eat.  As is pretty much always the case, Lido was hopping.

A quick note, Guys was jammed.... that said it was the ONLY time you had to wait more then a couple minutes for a burger.  WE found a spot ate some lunch and before we knew it, it was after 1:30 and we went down to drop off the carry ons.  When we got to our room, our bags were already there.  Our cards were waiting in the slot.  Before we could go in, our names were called and we met our room steward, who was a good one....  He asked if we needed anything and asked the question of what room service we wanted, AM, PM or both.  We said PM, he asked us again, mentioned we were Diamond and we said we were good with PM.

So on one of the roll calls, I cannot remember which, we said we were going to meet at the Red Frog at 2 or 2:30 (I missed both) and the 10 floor aft bar by the pool bar.  I did hit that one and only saw a couple of people.  Before moving on to later in the day, wanted to jump on my soapbox for a minute.  Muster Drills.  This would have been a fairly painless process except for the morons who think that they either are immure from rules or lacking on the intelligence department.  These people make the process (which got better when they started scanning sign and sail cards) a LOT worse by their lack of compliance.  The waiting for them went on for a good 15 minutes.  Carnival needs to address this, the only way I know how is punitive fines.  I would love to hear ideas on the topic if someone has a better idea.

We both retired at the end of June and moved to Ft Myers in the end of September (we have had a place there for a while ).  We still have our place back In CT.

Enjoying your review, from all the way over the bridge in Cape Coral.
