First Timers - What to Wear MS Koningsdam - Southern Caribbean end Feb

We are first timers and very much looking forward to our Cruise to the ABC Islands and Southern Caribbean on 24th Feb.

 

Not too sure what clothes to take, we normally like to travel light.

 

Does it get very cold in the evenings or is the air conditioning onboard always on full, my wife doesn't like being cold!

 

Also what sort of dress code is it on the MS Koningsdam? Do we need a dinner suit or is it less formal than that?

 

Any advice welcome.

Daytime will be summer casual clothes....shorts and tees/bathing suits....it's hot year round in the S. Carib!!

 

Some feel the dining room and theaters are chilly....so a light wrap might be a good thing to bring.  You will not need warm weather items while you're in the islands.

 

Few cruise lines enforce any dress code.  You will not need a tux/gown for evenings....but if you like to dress up, you can certainly bring those things!  Slacks and collared shirt for men is fine.  Women have MUCH more leeway in attire...anything from capris, to sundresses, etc...are fine.

HAL ships tend to vary in temperature from one area to another.  I always have a shawl with me.

 

You will find many people dress the same on smart casual nights as for Gala nights -- even in the specialty restaurants.

The air temps are going to be very warm the entire cruise. Lows might get as low as 78 degrees but may stay above 80 the entire cruise. Air conditioning will be on in the ship the entire cruise.
