conbon78 Posted November 30, 2018 #1 Ā Share Posted November 30, 2018 We hired a taxi at the port. It was $9pp if you have less than 4 people, otherwise it would have been $7. The drive out to Cockleshell beach was very pretty since you can see the Atlantic and Caribbean. The beach was nice, although some of the other ports (Antigua and St Maarten) were prettier. The snorkeling was decent - even saw a stingray! We went to Reggae Beach on Cockleshell Beach. Our driver came back and met us when we told him too. St. Kitts is very pretty and I would recommend getting out of the port. The port had fun shops, but it wasn't overly cheap and most of the stores had similar stuff. SeaWatcher65 Posted December 1, 2018 #2 Ā Share Posted December 1, 2018 I absolutely agree. Ā We were at St. Kitts November 2018 and went to Spice Mill Restaurant at Cockleshell Beach. Ā Spice Mill and Reggae are both on the same Cockleshell Beach a short walking distance apart. Ā Nice beach, good food and drinks. Ā We just wanted a simple beach day at the port and Cockleshell was just right. Ā Be sure to have the taxi make a stop at Timothy Hill on the way (scenic view). CarolRoy Posted December 1, 2018 #3 Ā Share Posted December 1, 2018 We will be at St. Kitts this Dec. 2018.Ā Have been there six times before.Ā In the beginning, we went to Shipwreck Bar at Cockleshell Beach.Ā There is no longer a beach there.Ā In May 2017 went to Cockleshell Beach and went to Loxseen Beach Hut Bar (Debbie was the owner).Ā It's in the same area as Reggae.Ā Do you know if Loxseen is still there? cathi007 Posted December 8, 2018 #4 Ā Share Posted December 8, 2018 I will be there in Jan and probably going to the Reggae Beach Bar. This island I have been to only once before and that time we did a snorkel tour, so never made it out of the port. We are looking forward to this island. Hoping to see some monkeys š
cathi007 Posted December 8, 2018 #5 Ā Share Posted December 8, 2018 I just realized our ship doesn't come in until 11am, and there are 2 other very large ships in the same day, all coming in earlier. Does anyone think we will have a problem finding chairs/umbrellas?

They will encourage you to take photos with the monkeys, hold the monkeys, feed the monkeys, and let the monkeys climb on you ā for tips, of course.
