Just off the Eurodam

I have already loaded my kindle, but I used to like to have paper books available for reading at the pool. Oh well. I’ll just need to be extra careful to keep my kindle dry.

Hi, Thank for you the review.  We are going on the Eurodam in April to celebrate our 50th Anniversary and 80th birthday..  We have 17 other couples joining us.  My question is that I would like to be able to see a wine list before we board.  Do you know how we might get one.  Also do you think they did a good job accommodating larger groups.

Eurodam is a terrific ship. I have sailed on Eurodam  3 of my 11 Holland Cruises.  The Theater is great, comfortable seats  and usually top notch entertainment.  The Cruise Director, Stone. is ex Ms Tennessee, and she is terrific.  The things that really make Eurodam stand out are  BB Kings,  The Tamarind Asian Food Restaurant,  and the well-trained staff who are absolutely superb.

And of course Holland Food service is a notch above the other cruise lines.  Unfortunately Eurodam no longer has the best Library afloat.  It was removed during a renovation,  so if you want to read bring several books with you.  Oprah Book Club is now  offered on board,  if you like that sort of thing, however those are touchy feely books and weren't appealing to me.  There is a book-swap shelf on port side entry to Crow's Nest, Deck 11.  And GALA Night has replaced Formal Night. So leave your Tux at home and bring a Suit or Sports Coat.

We have been on the Eurodam many times, including last March.  Although there is a decrease in the number of individuals who bring "formal" attire, we still see many men in Tuxedos.  My husband will wear his, as it fits better than his suits :)

 

We love the special restaurants, especially Tamarind, and BB King music is terrific.

Agree about the staff.  We sailed on Eurodam almost a year ago, and have reservations for the ship again next November. We are really looking forward to it; though sad the old Crow's Nest is no longer a pub.

Our first time on HAL, Eurodam coming up in May... looking forward to it. Splurged on a Neptune Suite and already booked a dinner at Tamarind, loved the online menu.  Hoping to just wear a sport jacket and slacks to Gala night, not wanting to bring a suit or tux (not that I own a tux)... hopefully that’s formal enough.

A sports jacket and tie is perfect!  Most men wear these, although I am seeing more and more in just business casual attire.

We were on the Eurodam last month. Perhaps the renaming of Formal Nights to Gala Nights is an acknowledgement that most folks don't pay much attention to what others are wearing at these dinners any more. For guys, slacks and a sport coat is plenty dressy.

Never did I say tie, not bringing a tie... I said a sports jacket and slacks, will add to a shirt w/buttons. Not sure I even own a tie, and if I do it's most likely in our storage unit.  Stopped wearing them when I stopped wearing suits nearly a decade ago.
