Rare Jim_Iain Posted February 16, 2019 #1 Share Posted February 16, 2019 Saw this in the news this morning. There is a summary of serious accidents on ships excursions on Celebrity and RCL over the past 10 years. Sounds quite serious as they had to air lift the passenger off the island. Thoughts and prayers are with the family. https://www.cruiselawnews.com/2019/02/articles/excursions/royal-caribbean-excursion-accident-san-juan-injures-allure-seas-passenger/

They would tell you it’s your responsibility and show you the contract. They would even mumble something about personal responsibility. I’m sorry for anyone injured and I hope those people follow all legal avenues.

The cruise lines push the safe line.

Below is a link to a far better site with events at sea that cover everything that happens on cruise ships and goes back to 2002. It also is independent not like the ambulance chaser. Please remember these are auto accidents which occur every day no matter where you are. http://www.cruisejunkie.com/events.html Edited February 16, 2019 by dkjretired

Thanks Jim, if you go to that website he's got some interesting stuff on it. There is a complete list of persons overboard going back to 1995 and a list of illnesses on ships. Below is a link to one year's illnesses, there is a chart by cruise line but if you scroll down a short synopsis on what happened. http://www.cruisejunkie.com/outbreaks2019.html
Rare Jim_Iain Posted February 16, 2019 Author #8 Share Posted February 16, 2019 I was really surprised to see that on Jan 24 Oceania Insignia failed their sanitation inspection with a score of 80. I think of Oceania as a Premium Line and would not have expected that.
