drumming cruisers Posted February 26, 2019 #1 Share Posted February 26, 2019 Has anyone done the Past, Present, Perfect Tour NCL offers after the cruise in NOLA? The one time we did a tour after a cruise was in Miami. As soon as we were thru the terminal doors, no one could/would direct us to the bus we were to take. We went from bus to bus asking if they were the tour we had booked. Once we found the correct bus sat there 45 minutes after we were supposed to leave. nolatravelgirl Posted February 26, 2019 #2 Share Posted February 26, 2019 I am a New Orleans native and that tour sounds dreadful! It is basically just a glorified bus ride to the airport with one stop at the cemetery. Everything else mentioned you are just seeing via the bus window. Personally, I would tip the bellman at a local hotel to store my bags and then explore the French Quarter on foot. When finished just hop a cab to the airport.
FranknBeans Posted February 26, 2019 #3 Share Posted February 26, 2019 (edited) We just did this cruise in January and we chose it because it was sailing out of NOLA which we have never been to. The cruise pier is not far from the French Quarters and all that it has to offer. We stayed at HILTON NEW ORLEANS/ST. CHARLES AVE. LA 70130 and we we just a couple blocks from Bourbon St We were able to do a lot from this area. We also did the Hop on Hop off coach which allowed us to get off were ever and then get back on. The Hop on Hop off runs every 30 mins. We hopped off at the Mardigras World Museum and had a tour inside then came out and hopped on the coach. Tour was fantastic because we got to see some of this years floats. Out of all the Hop Ons we have done this was the best by far. Rare BirdTravels Posted February 27, 2019 #5 Share Posted February 27, 2019 Post-cruise tours usually leave a little late due to the totally inconsiderate people who think that they are the most important people in the world and don't show up on time. We've done the NOLA tour and enjoyed it. Stop at the cemetery. Stop for some beignets and coffee.
