I had no clue. I have always been able to choose my cabin. I do go through my PCC however. I already have both of my cabins for the November cruise.

Where you on a casino Rate or casino Offer (the free cabin emails or USPS)?  The rate (which we get) allows you to select your cabin, but the Offer does not (at least to my understanding).  Please advise.

The perks are VIP boarding and disembarkation, specialized service with a dedicated VIP host, VIP-only welcome aboard party, complimentary beverages while in the casino, comp entries to the slot and blackjack tournaments, private VIP-only farewell party and prize drawing, free play in the casino and special fares.

I had read about these offers for other cruise lines where your travel companion is included for the comp beverages, the tournament entries, and the prize drawings (as well as all of the other things offered)...  Just curious if HAL has the same policies.  Thanks for asking...  🙂

These sound more like Carnival's casino offers than Hollands -- at least the ones I've gotten.  May have to call Holland and ask what I'm missing.

Agree.  All of my offers have been free inside, a bit for OV, a little more for balcony and double that for a suite.

This is how I often sail solo...they're so cheap that doubling the price is easy!

So we called today. If we would have went with priority boarding and free drinks in the casino. We would not have gotten to pick our room. We also would not gotten prepaid gratuities. The cost was a little cheaper our way so we left it. If the other guests were not coming i think we would have tried it. I tried to take a picture of the offer. So everyone would know what I was talking about. Very limited sailings and only guaranteed rooms. Thank you everyone for your replies.

Curious, I am now Prime status on RCCL’s Casino Royale program.

My wife and I not sailed HAL since 2016 (2017?) for reasons unrelated to HAL. However, despite our absence, I still receive email/USPS-sent HAL casino offerings.

Does anyone know if HAL might upgrade my casino status based upon RCCL Prime status?

If so, who do I need to contact, and how do I need to frame things to maximize any such opportunity?

Any other guidance is appreciated.

I received the VIP offer yesterday in the mail (glossy colorful invitation) and have contacted my PVP to book it for us. We just returned on Sunday from a Premier Cruise on the Carnival Miracle and it's the same type of offer - welcome aboard cocktail party, free drinks in the casino, farewell party, etc. Only I received twice as much money on Carnival (cash on Carnival and Fun Play on HAL). The big difference between the two offers is that we could book a specific cabin on Carnival and it's a Guarantee on HAL, which I'm not crazy about. We have done the VIP casino cruises before on HAL and they were fun. We sailed on the Oosterdam in Feb. with a casino rate and a small amount of Fun Play and were able to book a Guarantee Neptune Suite because the discounted rate was amazing, not so on the VIP offer and we'll settle for an ocean view this time The Oosterdam sailing was not like a VIP casino cruise as there was no welcome cocktail party or free drinks. I gambled on the Fun Play all week and brought home the money I brought.

One thought concerning the free play - my wife gambled for about 1/2 of the week on her free play and 1/2 on her own money.  At the end of the week, she had not earned anywhere near the "points" that she normally does (about 1000 per week), plus she did not get a "free play" card in our cabin's box the final morning (which she usually gets with the amount varying.  Thus, the free play might impact your rating from the casino.

I received an email and then a few days later the offer arrived in the mail. I just glanced at the mail offer as I had already booked. In the recycle it went. I will start paying more attention to the offers I get in the mail. I always go off the email.

A Casino offer just came USPS today, There are 12 different cruise offers and nowhere does it mention a guaranty.

Try a booking and see what happens and please report back to let us know.  The offer should be linked to your Mariner number, so be sure to put that in.

My offer is for a complimentary stateroom. When I go to book it online, being logged in, it does not show the complimentary offer. The offer states to contact my PCC.

I have to be honest. After my first cruise on HAL every cruise I have taken has been through a casino offer. I am presently a 4 star mariner so it's been a lot of cruises. I have always been able to select the stateroom I wanted. Never once has it been a guaranty. I do however go through my PCC.

I contacted my PVP and learned a little...I'd failed to opt in for emails, which is why I was only getting the offers via USPS.  That's fixed now.  And he gave me a link for reaching out to the casino department (below if you need it).  Said they don't take calls anymore (unless they provide one with an offer).

He couldn't help me with how that group makes offers.  Said their 'targeting metrics' are not shared outside the department.

The last thing that he shared that I thought was interesting was that if you're sailing when an offer is being sent, their system may do an automatic pass over.

In any event, I did get an auto-reply to my message...hopefully I'll hear from them soon.
