VIP Casino Offer

I received a VIP casino offer which my husband and I will be taking advantage of.  This is our first such offer on Holland America.  I have a question regarding all of the perks of this offer -- are they given to both me and my husband?  For example, will my husband be included in the prize drawings, get a free entry in the blackjack tournament and the slot tournament, etc.?

I can't answer your question, but I am curious how you received this offer. Was it via email or regular mail? I ask because we received one via email in November and one via regular mail in January. Due to illness in the family at that time, we couldn't commit to booking, but now we can and hope we receive another offer. That was our first time receiving an offer like that.

The perks are only for the past guest who received the offer.  I'm doing my third casino offer sailing in April and I practically drool when I get the offer in the mail...they really are that good.
All of mine have been via postal mail, though I suppose I could have missed an emailed offer...I slack more on those.

When did you receive your last offer in the mail?

We've gotten the Casino Discount on several cruises, but never a VIP Casino Offer. Can you elaborate on what the perks associated with this are?

TIA

The perks are VIP boarding and disembarkation, specialized service with a dedicated VIP host, VIP-only welcome aboard party, complimentary beverages while in the casino, comp entries to the slot and blackjack tournaments, private VIP-only farewell party and prize drawing, free play in the casino and special fares.

I had read about these offers for other cruise lines where your travel companion is included for the comp beverages, the tournament entries, and the prize drawings (as well as all of the other things offered)...  Just curious if HAL has the same policies.  Thanks for asking...  🙂

I received this via email...  I hope you get a new offer --- it looks like a fun time!

Knowing how getting these kind of perks in a land casino work, just wondering how much you dropped on board to get marked as a high-roller.

If you don't want to answer, I fully understand. :classic_wink:

On HAL and other CCL ships I was able to have my spouse enjoy all the perks above EXCEPT comp beverages in casino, slot and blackjack tournaments, prize drawing and any free play. Your casino host can explain what you can “share”, just send them an email.

If your partner is in the casino while you are playing, you can order a drink and give it to him.  I noticed this was happening around the craps table on my recent HAL cruise and there was no objection from casino staff nor is there likely to be.

Here is another great suggestion - offer everyone on your same deck, or meet and greet members, the unlimited use your 4 star free laundry bag.

Not sure this forum is a good place to suggest ways to cheat the system. :classic_unsure:

Nonsense.  When you spend(lose) more than a grand gambling in the casino, a few drinks "on the house" is hardly cheating and I'm certain the casino doesn't think so.

Unfortunately, I have seen the "free" laundry thing done by people in Neptune cabins!  Hard to believe, but true.

My husband and I just booked a cruise like this. He received an email. I know this may sound weird but how do you know you received all the perks? Does it say on your paper work. I did ask this question on another board but it seems like this is a better place. I couldn't find it noted on my confirmation. We are also suppose to have paid gratuities. Not seeing that either. I have sailed on Carnival and it seems like they list out perks on your paper work. This maybe cheating the system but we booked two rooms one under my name that I will share with his mother and one he will share with his sister. They told us just to switch after we boarded. Has anyone done that? I am new to this and have many questions. Thanks for any help. 😁

I assume that when you booked you received the casino fare stated in your offer?  It may be mentioned on page 2 of your confirmation sheet.  Either way, be sure to bring a copy of your offer with you on your cruise, just in case.

So looking at the confirmation it just says. Casino rate but nothing about vip, priority boarding or even casino cash. Just wanted to know what was normal before I call to see if they booked us under the correct offer. Thanks again.

We have gotten the Casino rate the last two cruises - it was linked with my husband last summer and me for this summer's trip. I don't know the last time I went to the casino - and if I do go, I may spend $20. My husband has done a  here or there poker but nothing of substance. While I LOVE the discounted rate (noted as Casino on booking) I never have seen anything else as far as priority boarding.

We receive several Casino VIP offers from HAL each year. Some offers are for a discounted room and casino cash and some offers are for a free cabin. Depending on how much you play will be the determining factor in your offer. My wife received a free ocean view stateroom. I received a free signature suite. It's usually one or the other. A discounted cabin with free play or a free cabin with no free play.

We took advantage of the offer for the $50,000 Slot/Blackjack tournament in November on the Nieuw Statendam.

Good description of the various Casino deals.  A couple of things to add:

If you get a "free" cabin, you usually must take a guarantee, thus you cannot pick your cabin.  You can be assigned any cabin within your category (or higher) and you cannot "buy" your way up a notch or two with your category.  However, you generally CAN buy your way up to a higher category (again a guarantee).  For example, if you got an offer for a free inside, you can buy your way up to a Neptune for $XXXX (IMO, this is the way to do it).

I had no clue. I have always been able to choose my cabin. I do go through my PCC however. I already have both of my cabins for the November cruise.
