With no Texas Hold Em table, do they hold any tournaments onboard? If so where?

They don’t have tournaments.   This is the only HAL ship without one.   I didn’t spend any money is the casino when I was aboard.   This along with crap blackjack payouts, extra zero on roulette, only double odds on craps.....This casino is not for serious players.  I’ll save my money.

Casino was busy anyway so I guess it will never change.

Let it Ride is my favorite table game...won that title when I hit four of a kind and saw a LOT of $100 black chips come my way.  I it is harder and harder to find it in any casino...I think casinos have learned that letting people claw back bets isn't good for the house.

We were at Parx in PA back in December for my birthday and on their huge casino floor we found one Let it Ride table amidst a sea of everything else.  I suspect that one will not last long.

I haven't been to the casino on my last couple of cruises.  No more Caribbean stud poker.  And the last time I played 3 card poker I actually lost money on a hand I won!   I am no poker expert but that is what happened.  It was very odd.  Anyway I picked up my money and went back to my cabin.  Dealer explained but I don't remember all the details.

the point is if I win I want to win money not lose any!!!

That's a bummer.  My husband is a poker player and will be bummed.  He's thinking of bringing his own chips to maybe start a friendly game somewhere else on the ship if he meets anybody willing to play.  Are there spots where he could hook up with others? Also, my game of choice is pai gow.  I love to play in Vegas because I can push and play for hours.  Do they have pai gow?  Is the $25 blackjack 3/2? Lots of questions!

Where was the table located? Was it a poker pro table? When I was on in January they said there was no plans to add one. Glad to hear they put one in.

They would have had to remove the crap table, roulette wheel, at least 2 of the 8 card tables to make it fit....or a bunch of slots. I spent some time looking for a space that would accommodate a poker pro table and their wasn’t any room without taking something off.

No Pai Gow

The $25 blackjack table pays 3/2 on blackjacks

Tommy says they now have a poker table - not sure where they put it unless they took out the crap table or roulette wheel.

One of classrooms would work if not busy and it would be fun to try.....not sure how to find other players. Word of mouth in the casino. Ship may not like even with no money on the table

How does the size of the NS/K-dam casinos hold up to the amount of passengers? I've only been on the Nieuw Amsterdam. How does the casino size compare to that on the N.A.?

The casino on NS was full but never crowded. Always room at slots or the tables. It is larger than the NA as it covers the width of the ship

Tommy,

Was the table near the roulette wheel or closer to the craps table? Or was it on the other side near the bar? Here is the layout when I was on in January. To fit a poker pro table they either took out slots on the starboard side or something on the port side. Do you remember where the table was located?

Thanks for the info. Yeah I told my husband the same thing about finding other players.  Hopefully Tommy is correct and they have added it.
