Just as a side remark: there are no cruise ships at V&A Terminal in Cape Town anymore. But there is another port, where the hotel porter could carry your luggage to the ship, this is Sydney (if you are in right terminal near the opera house). There's a nice Park Hyatt that's easily within walking distance. I'd heard that they don't use V&A in CPT any longer. Too bad. That was great! Duncan Dock in Cape Town is only a short walk from the V&A, maybe 10-15 minutes at most and as a bonus the recently moved Panama Jacks is in the new Terminal building.
