CarolRoy Posted March 24, 2019 #1 Share Posted March 24, 2019 Will be doing Carnival Imagination end of April. Would like to rent a golf cart for 4 on Catalina Island. Any info would be most helpful. What companies are good and would we need a reservation before we sail. Also any beaches we can explore. Also any info on Ensenada would be most appreciated. princeton123211 Posted March 25, 2019 #2 Share Posted March 25, 2019 We used Catalina Island Golf Cart & Tours not so long ago-- not on a cruise but on a visit to the island from LA. To be honest it wasn't really all that great. The carts are more for getting up into the hills above Avalon than for getting to any beaches. The views are nice but you can be up and down in about an hour but they require you rent them for at least 2. If we had it to do over again we would have just walked around the waterfront in Avalon.
ATSEAMYLIFE Posted March 26, 2019 #3 Share Posted March 26, 2019 We just spent a long weekend on Catalina and rented a cart for a couple of hours. There are several rental places some close to the dock some not. But all within a short walk. We had fun driving around and going up to the top overlooking the harbor. Keep in mind they are gas and treated as motor vehicles. You will need a drivers license and proof of insurance. We have a condo in Mexico just north of Ensenada. I would look at some of the wine country tours.

Still need info on golf cart rental on Catalina Island. Did some research. Looking at Catalina Island Golf Cart Rental (Cartopia Golf Cart Rental - seems like the same company as Catalina Island Golf Cart Rental). They take reservations. Also looking at Catalina Golf Cart Rentals. They don't require a reservation. All the companies names sound alike. Prices are the same. We will be the Carnival Imagination and will be at Catalina Island Monday 4/29/19.
ATSEAMYLIFE Posted April 16, 2019 #5 Share Posted April 16, 2019 I didn't see any difference when we went looking to rent. Except some don't take credit cards cash only. The carts were all about the same as were the prices. It's just about how far you want to walk to get it. Since it's a cruise stop I would probably get a reservation, otherwise we had no issue walking up and taking our pick.
DukeASUGirl Posted June 24, 2019 #6 Share Posted June 24, 2019 We're going kayaking in the morning in Catalina. I think we're done before noon. Would renting a golf cart be worth it for the rest of the afternoon, or should we just plan to wander around in Avalon on our own? We're doing an ATV tour of wine country in Ensenada. ATSEAMYLIFE Posted June 24, 2019 #7 Share Posted June 24, 2019 Golf cart rentals are two or four hours. If only there for the day then two hours would be plenty. Wandering around Avalon will take you about 30 minutes.
VentureMan_2000 Posted August 29, 2019 #8 Share Posted August 29, 2019 two hours is more than enough. They sell out quickly, and they do not take reservations.
