Doing Back 2 Back on Holland then Princess

Don't know about Holland America but they likely offer the same type of excursions as Princess. In that case there are a number of post-cruise excursions available which could fill you time. They deal with your luggage as well. You can also book the same sort of things privately. Check the excursions offered in port and then decide if you want to take a ship-sponsored tour or do one of the same sort of things on your own.

Be careful of the cruise line debarkation-day tours - at the end of the tour they usually drop off you and the luggage at the airport.    I don't know that they would take you to the Princess pier.    Why not stay on the ship as long as they'll let you (probably until about 10:00), then get off the ship, taxi or Uber right away to the Princess pier and drop off your luggage.   You can then rent a car, do a private tour, or take the Water Taxi (there's a stop pretty close to the piers).

We did this on HAL in January this year at Port Everglades. Got off Koningsdam late. You can select getting off as late as you can. Say 10:30 usually last. We only had to walk around the corner and then walked on Nieuw Amsterdam by 11:00.

However to do HAL followed by Princess at Port Everglades it will be a bit of a walk (not very safe) to get from the HAL piers over to Princess nearer at the North entrance to the port.

Yes, plan on getting a cab.

Though check with Guest services onboard your first ship to see if they have anyway to transport you from one ship to another (I've heard of shuttles between Royal/Celebrity ships) - you never know.

HAL normally docks at the mid port piers. Princess primarily uses the north port piers 2 and 4. When Princess has multiple ships in port they also use the mid port piers. When it gets closer to your cruise check the Port Everglades website ship schedule to determine which piers are being used.

You have to take transportation to get between the mid port and north port piers. .

It's a $10 taxi fare between mid port and north port. You may also be able to take the free parking garage shuttle between the mid port garage and the north port garage. Both parking garages are adjacent to the piers.
