We just like to add a little something for our steward; they work so hard. Agree leaving the pre-paid on is a good thing and appreciated by your cabin steward because he gets questioned when you don't. We normally to give him extra in CA$H.
taglovestocruise Posted April 4, 2019 #27 Share Posted April 4, 2019 Usually a extra $20.00 for the room steward as we always get twice a day ice and ask for cocktail and wine glasses. $10.00 extra at specialty dining restaurants. Do not give anything extra to waitstaff as we usually miss half of the nightly MDR meals.

It covers everyone in the MDR and at the buffet or wherever you eat.
Krazy Kruizers Posted April 4, 2019 #29 Share Posted April 4, 2019 We always leave the tips in place -- on HAL they are called the Hotel Service Charge. We do tip our cabin stewards extra at the end of the cruise. If we are on a Collectors Cruise (HAL's version of a back-to-back cruise) we tip the cabin stewards at the end of each segment just in case they need the cash to buy personal items. As to the specialty restaurants, the last few years we have only eaten there, on HAL there is no tip built in the cost of eating those restaurants, we do tip each evening those people who wait on us -- usually 2 people. The last few cruises on HAL we have not tipped the servers in the lounges as we have not been getting the same ones each night and the 1 ounce pour was not worth anything beyond the 15% already added onto the bill. It all boils down to whom you feel you should you should tip extra if at all.
