Grandma Cruising Posted April 9, 2019 #2 Share Posted April 9, 2019 My favourite memory of Spain is spending a few days in Seville for the Feria. It was wonderful, everyone was dressed in their finery. The Feria ground is full of family ‘tents’ where people meet, greet, drink, eat and dance.
tv24 Posted April 9, 2019 #3 Share Posted April 9, 2019 Take long walks in the Eixample area of Barcelona to admire the architecture and to look for the perfect restaurant for dinner that night.

Redtravel Posted April 10, 2019 #5 Share Posted April 10, 2019 Spain is a fabulous place. As a cruiser, there are many interesting ports. We love Barcelona, Bilbao, Seville, Malaga, and Majorca. There are many cathedrals, palaces, gardens, museums, and restaurants. If you like art, visit Picasso museums in Barcelona and Malaga. They are both very close to the docks. Barcelona is Gaudi. It is fascinating visiting his works. Park Guell is an interesting project. Hire a guide to explain the unusual landscape. In Seville, visit the cathedral and see the tomb of Columbus. It is spectacular. Seville’s Alcazar is not to be missed. The best excursion in Spain is a trip to the Alhambra. It is amazing. Majorca is beautiful. It has lovely museums, beaches, shops, and vegetation. Visited a private palace with an excellent collection by Salvador Dali. Bilbao’s Guggenheim museum and Fine Art museum are very good. Both are easy to visit. The port provides free shuttles that take you to a place that is a block away from the Guggenheim. The fine arts museum is a short walk away. In Spain, don’t forget to visit local markets and try the wine and tapas. Be sure to eat at least one meal in Spain. The food is delicious.

Redtravel Posted April 10, 2019 #7 Share Posted April 10, 2019 Going on cruise to the Canary Islands soon. Is there anything that I should plan to see or do? Been on the internet looking for attractions. See lots of beaches and outdoor parks. I enjoy museums, landmarks, local markets, and cultural venues. Grandma Cruising Posted April 11, 2019 #8 Share Posted April 11, 2019 If the ship stops at Santa Cruz in Tenerife you could take the tram to San Cristobal de Laguna. The old city there is a world heritage site. In Lanzarote it’s worth taking a tour to the Volcano Timanfaya which is still active and you can see the fire below the surface.
