Icy Strait Point

What are some excursions that you can do on Icy Strait that you cannot do at the other stops in Skagway, Ketchikan , and Juneau? When I look at a list of excursions, it's the same stuff.  Is there anything unique about Icy Strait?

The ZipRider is unique to Icy Strait. We took a cooking class/demonstration there that I haven't seen offered anywhere else.  Good luck!

Whales arel closer to the pier and much more active in my opinion.

Icy Strait Point is a great spot for Whale Watching. So is Juneau, but Juneau has a lot of other options, so by doing the whale watching at Icy Strait Point you free up your time in Juneau.

I find ISP a breath of fresh air -- so nice not to wake up in the morning, look out the balcony window and NOT see a Diamonds International!  But whale watching and Tlingit culture are the main attractions.

I was having a similar problem with ISP, and our cruise came out with more excursions including a flightseeing tour of Glacier Bay from ISP. Since our ship doesn't go there, we decided to book that tour.

I like whale watching and doing a bear search, they have one of the highest populations of bears in the world and you do not have to fly to go try to find them. This pic taken right out the van front window of 1 of the bear/cubs we saw this last trip.
