bunnyonthehighseas Posted May 8, 2019 #1 Share Posted May 8, 2019 Just thought I'd let everyone know that you must show your boarding pass and identification (passport/driver's license, etc) to security before you may even enter the terminal. Not sure if this is well known but this was different than other cruise ports we've visited where you do not need that to simply get in the building. Djptcp Posted May 8, 2019 #2 Share Posted May 8, 2019 We always have to do it at the Port of Tampa which is where we cruise out of the most. Most recently on the Miracle in April. There are staff stationed outside the terminal who ask to see your boarding pass and passport. Once you do that, you go inside and go through security and then on to check in. Davey Wavey Posted May 8, 2019 #3 Share Posted May 8, 2019 Last time out of New Orleans and Galveston they checked outside the building first.
PhillyFan33579 Posted May 8, 2019 #4 Share Posted May 8, 2019 To add to the list, we have cruised out of Miami twice the last two months. Both times we had to show boarding passes and passports outside the terminal. That was also our experience at Canaveral in February and Tampa in December as others have already mentioned. Pyrate13 Posted May 8, 2019 #5 Share Posted May 8, 2019 Yup, nothing new about this. Happens at multiple ports.

obx_fintoo Posted May 9, 2019 #7 Share Posted May 9, 2019 I believe that all of the ports that Carnival uses have now switched to this. JAX was inside in November, but outside scan when we came back in February.
