Been to Nice, Monaco, Eze etc so have decided to spend day in VF proper. Planning on exploring the town and perhaps walking out to Rothschild house. Any must sees in VF?  Thanks.

Just walking around is very nice.  Here is a link to some photos.

I agree.  When we were a few years ago, I spent the a.m. wandering around.  There's an old fort which now houses the city offices, an attractive small "downtown" area with a nice church/cathedral.  The first photo in Mark's collection is of a very old castle up on the ridge high above and north of the town.  Have no idea if/how it's accessible.  In the afternoon I took a ship tour to Eze.  We had been there before but that time it a very rainy day.  Our day at Villefranche was a warm, clear day so the Eze visit was different from my prior visit.  Eze is a "mountain town" with narrow cobbled streets (vehicles have to park outside its gates).   Lots of shops, art galleries, restaurants.  Picasso is buried up there.  Enjoy!

Villefranche is just lovely to walk around, and also the ocean is great for swimming, but the beach is pebbly.

Villa Rothschild is an incredible place. The house itself is stunning, and the gardens are just beautiful. I’ve only ever visited the house from Nice, so not familiar with the walk, but well worth the visit.

Afternoon trip to Eze is what we also did (with some time in Nice)

Thanks for sharing!  Eze is quite a photographer's dream.  I don't believe I mentioned this before:  on our first "rainy" visit there, the cobbled streets showed their beautiful and intricate patterns.  On our "dry" visit, we could not see those patterns. 😞
