Coco Cay -- umbrellas or chairs with shade attached

A friend wants to make sure she has adequate shade on Coco Cay.  Are there ample chairs in the shade?  Are there umbrellas?  Do some of the chairs have a half moon fold back umbrella (I guess these are clam shells).  Thanks

lots of umbrellas, but they are fixed in position, and don't articulate (you can't tip the upper half of the umbrella to adjust where the shade goes.) There are clam shells available beachside (None at the fresh water pool, however), but those are at an extra cost - not sure how much because you pay for those at the beach.

 

Amazon sells a Sport-Brella Versa-Brella that attaches to a beach chair for ~$30. We have two that we use at the beach (a lot easier than lugging beach umbrellas).

We visited CoCo Cay on Harmony in June and had no problem finding chairs in the shade around the pool area and around South Beach. There were also areas of shade in the Oasis Lagoon pool on the benches located in the pool around the small islands.

And, if there is a shady spot with NO chairs there, move a chair into the shade....as long as it doesn't block paths!
