katieandscott Posted November 3, 2019 #1 Share Posted November 3, 2019 Does anyone know how deep the pools are (RCCL Allure) if it makes a difference. Are “floaties” or Puddle Jumpers allowed? Trying to decide what (if anything) to bring for my 5 year old. Thanks!
Rare Itchy&Scratchy Posted November 4, 2019 #2 Share Posted November 4, 2019 (edited) here are our pics of the Allure's regular pools. Definitely bring floaties. The pools are definitely more than 4' deep. My tall 8 yo is only 4'5, so he'd be under water. We didn't use the pools because we hate freezing cold water. Puddle jumpers only go to 50#, so we had to discontinue using them at 5, but I found inflatable arm floaties rated to 100#, so that's what we've used for the last 3 years (plus swimming lessons for the last 2 years). Rare dctravel Posted November 8, 2019 #3 Share Posted November 8, 2019 When my son was smaller, we bought an inflatable ring at the dollar store. He wore that in the pool both on the ship and at a resort we went to for the day.
Kerry's Girls Posted November 8, 2019 #4 Share Posted November 8, 2019 If kids are swimming while the ship is moving, some kind of arm or body float is helpful because in addition to not having a shallow end to put their feet down, the water is often in motion and can make it more difficult for swimmers who aren't that strong. Royal Caribbean ships have three different sized life jackets on the pool deck that you can borrow for on ship swimming. They can not be taken off the ship.
