Rebooking with CCL Credit

I am sure its been discussed so I apologize in advance.

Has anyone rebooked a cruise using credit from a cancelled reservation that is less than the original reservation cost? If so what happens with the difference?

We originally had a cruise leaving March 12, 2020 but cancelled the day before due to CDC's recommendation. CCL was allowing cruisers to cancel and use that cost for a future booking. Now we are ready to book and the new cruise is lower, is it a wash or is the difference applied to your OBC?

Also has anyone rebooked and had that cruise cancelled? This seems like a nightmare for booking agents to track and credit the right amount towards a future cruise.

Cheers and stay safe!

I did this today. My reschedule cruise is $30 less. My pvp said it would go back on the original card. I told him I’d take obc but he said it had to be put back on the card.

Mine was just the opposite.  New booking was $15 cheaper and they gave it back as obc.

Good to know. I finally got my 5/16 cancellation through this morning. I was getting an error message when I tried earlier in the week. Our canceled cruise was $2500ish all in and the replacement is around $2300, was trying to get it as close as we could but peak season vs non peak..

When should I expect to try the FCC?

We just had our may 17th cruise canceled so I had the casino department move all of the funds to my september 20th cruise. We upgraded the cabin to an extended balcony. $633 dollars was the money we had after they upgraded us. We were only allowed to move $500 towards OBC and carnival is refunding the other $133..

We had our May 10th cruise cancelled. I filled out the form the day I received it. I also rebooked that day for March 2021. Today my agent sent a new confirmation from carnival. It has the OBC on it clearly labeled. There maybe FCC also. Not labeled FCC, there is $300 under coupns/credits and $450 under payments received.

I wish when we submitted our request we received a note telling us the amount of FCC.
