Katherine At this point of time Cunard are not discounting, in fact prices for late 21 and Early 22 have increased, some quite considably since launch. Will offer advice, ensure your sighting trip is in Tromsø, as we spent loads on many trips and the one in Tromsø was by far the best sightings. In saying that, guests on the ship were lucky and viewed (through the lends of their camera) from the ship. Ho hum. Another tip... ensure your camera or 'phone has an aperture timed opening or "Northern Lights" App.
MCC retired Posted July 13, 2020 #3 Share Posted July 13, 2020 Cunard in the USA seems to be stuck on this 180th Anniversary Sale that has been the only Sale since May , was renewed and expires on Aug 27 . Not much a big deal . Hope for something better in months to come ?
bluemarble Posted July 13, 2020 #4 Share Posted July 13, 2020 The current "deal" being offered by Cunard in the US is indeed the 180th Anniversary Sale which offers both a 50% reduced deposit and OBC. It can be difficult to determine the amount of OBC being offered from the Cunard website, so here are the details based on an email I received. These OBC amounts are per person. Voyage Length Queens Grill Princess Grill Balcony Oceanview Inside 89+ Nights $1000 $800 $500 $400 $300 55-88 Nights $800 $600 $400 $300 $200 21-54 Nights $450 $360 $250 $200 $150 14-20 Nights $300 $240 $180 $140 $90 6-13 Nights $150 $120 $90 $70 $50 The usual Grill Suite Offer applies to this US promotion as well. That's pre-paid gratuities and free drinks up to $12 for those who book a grill suite.
bluemarble Posted August 28, 2020 #5 Share Posted August 28, 2020 Now that it's August 28th, the new promotion in the US is another "Labor Day Sale" this year. A short-term promotion that runs through September 8th. The only perk I see is a 50% reduced deposit. Some 7-night QM2 crossings are advertised at $999 per person for a balcony. Pretty good based on some of the recent higher pricing I've been seeing. Some of you may recall Cunard was refusing to grant OBC from Future Cruise Deposits (purchased on board) for bookings made under at least one similar US short-term promotion last year. Don't know if that would be an issue with this promotion.
