Unvaccinated Passengers Review on Cruise Protocols

No they stated that when they release the protocols for the a particular batch of cruises, if you aren't happy with them or unable to comply refunds will be offered.

I just checked the website again and if you cancel within 48 hours of sailing (CWC) you will receive FCC not a cash refund….so no, you cannot “ just go book a cruise with the other guy if you’re not happy”.  If you can find wording on the website that says otherwise, I’d love to see it.

Still not sure what I’m going to do personally with my cruise but if it was that simple then I would probably just switch my funds to another line.

It may not be obviously posted on their site, but folks reported being able to get a refund, not FCC, for ships which have had protocols announced (only for cruises through the end of August).

I got a cash refund for my 8-21-21 SY cruise b/c we are not vaccinated and we did not want to be banned from the casino.  Not only did we get the cash back from the final payment ($2K) but we will get a cash refund of the ~$10K in FCCs that we used to pay the bulk of the cruise.  Who knows if this policy will continue going forward but it worked for our August cruise.

L&S is usually only if RCI cancels the sailing and may discontinue it it altogether soon.

RC told me I could cancel my cruise (unvaccinated children) receive a fCC and book the same cruise next year for 7000.00 more.. screw Royal...Or i could pay off my balance...Give Royal a (subatainal loan) with no interest and maybe if I am unsatisfied with the "protocols" at the time of the cruise....I could cancel for another future cruise credit...Sounds to me the only one making out is Royal.. .So much for customer loyalty..smdh..I would think they would be happy to have a family with "unvaccinated" children not on their ships till a later date...

That’s the part they told you wrong, you could cancel for a full refund.

That is not what I was told...I was told I would get the taxes and port charges back and the rest in a FCC.and it was a. C&A rep

As you can read just a few posts up others have already received full refunds when canceling based on protocols. Now, anything is possible in the COVID era but my guess is that particular rep was wrong.

Yes you can... Just received this from Royal this am... you will notice that second paragraph is the one you are looking for it doesn't always have to be on the website.

Yes you do have to wait until the protocols are released but you can get a refund see screen shot above.

Seattle August 2021 Sailings Protocol Update

We can’t wait to welcome you onboard your upcoming sailing. Before departing, we have an update to share with you regarding our pre-cruise testing requirement for all guests, regardless of vaccination status.

All guests ages 2 and up, vaccinated and unvaccinated, are required to provide a negative PCR or antigen test result for COVID-19 on boarding day. This test must be taken no more than 3 days prior to your sail date and must be arranged by each guest at their own expense with an accredited test provider, such as a drugstore chain or diagnostic lab. This test is in addition to the required testing protocol that's already in place for unvaccinated guests.

That's the email I received last week except it said Adventure not Seattle; the one specific to your ship and sail date will be the one with the refund offer.
