Details a little sketchy, including start date and whether it will be the same for the rest of the UK.

Further details hopefully later today.

Those visitors who've been vaccinated in the UK (there won't be many) already qualify, this new announcement refers to those vaccinated outside the UK.

Update

To enter the UK, folk on the Amber list  currently have to provide proof that they have been fully-vaccinated in the UK.

From next monday 2nd August, visitors to England from the USA and the EU (France is an exception, see below) can enter without having to quarantine provided that they prove that they have been fully vaccinated in their own country. They will still have to provide a negative test before arrival and another two days after arrival.

This news currently applies only to England, the other UK countries - Scotland, Wales & Northern Ireland -  make their own rules & are currently considering doing the same. Previous experience suggests they will broadly fall in line, sometimes with a slightly longer lead-in time.

No other countries - including Canada - have been mentioned.  Those from Amber countries - including Canada -  can only enter the UK without quarantine if they were vaccinated in the UK.

France is the exception - altho their infection rate is OK, a significant proportion is of the South African variant. I have no idea how this will affect cruises which visit both France & the UK.

More detail will hopefully surface in the next day or two.

And of course things can change overnight.

Stay safe

UPDATE

Scotland - says the same as England - same terms, same date.

Wales - will follow. A little reluctantly, because the USA doesn't have a unified "vaccination passport".

Northern Ireland - no word yet
