4cats1house Posted September 6, 2021 #1 Share Posted September 6, 2021 We need to rent a rolling walker in Seattle for our cruise on 09/18/21 but would like it delivered to our hotel the day before to use during embarkation but we would like to leave it in the room at the end of the cruise (pick-up is different than drop-off). Has anyone done this? What company?
ggTexasGal Posted September 6, 2021 #2 Share Posted September 6, 2021 We have never done this! However, Access Medical Equipment (& Service) Co. gets good reviews. They are CLOSED today!!! However, you might try calling Seattle: (206) 365-7700 tomorrow and ask them about your needs! Good luck!
kgmorris Posted September 7, 2021 #3 Share Posted September 7, 2021 There are several companies that will rent. For example here is one, https://www.specialneedsatsea.com. We were on a NCL cruise out of Miami a few years ago and rented a scooter for my mother who just had surgery they delivered and picked up at the boat. I do not know if that service is still available.
kokopelli-az Posted September 7, 2021 #4 Share Posted September 7, 2021 (edited) I would check with both scootaround.com and specialneedsatsea.com. I know that I have seen on one of these websites that they will drop off the device and pick it up at different locations. You will probably have to call these companies. Also, double-check with your cruise line to verify which of these companies they allow on board their ships to pick up the mobility equipment. You can find this information on the cruise line's website by searching for the special needs section. Some cruise lines will only allow one of these companies on board. You may find that renting a rollator is more expensive than buying one. Edited September 7, 2021 by kokopelli-az
FOPMan Posted September 8, 2021 #5 Share Posted September 8, 2021 I’d suggest buying one. There are a variety on the market. I am particularly in favor of the Explore! by Hugo. It’s a bit more expensive but I haven’t destroyed one yet! I destroyed a cheaper one in Europe, in part due to using it extensively on cobblestone.
