Stockholder credit on casino free cabin offer booking

My PCC just told me that we would not get out $100 stockholder credit on our upcoming sailing since we booked under a casino OFFER (which means a free cabin).  We paid extra to book a Neptune suite, so the cabin is not FREE.  In the past we have booked casino RATES and were able to use the stockholder credit.

Has anyone using a casino OFFER (free cabin) been able to use the stockholder credit?

No, there is a big difference between the discounted casino fares which many of us get.

The casino offers are not eligible for the CCL stockholder credit nor are any heavily discounted cruises.

While I know you paid extra to book a Neptune Suite, I am certain it was a heavily discounted price and the not the normal cost 😉

It is clearly outlined in the CCL stockholder credit rules.  Any special pricing that reduced does not qualify.

Thanks kazu!  I missed that in all the fine print.

Now to see if they apply the stockholder credit to my second cruise in March, which is booked under a 20 % off casino rate.

That one will be ok.  I get the casino discount too (not as good as yours on this one 😉) but I have never had a problem having my CCL stockholder OBC applied on a casino discount.

You are still paying regular fare and getting a “discount”

It’s the practically free cruises like casino offers (not discounts). Some TA special offerings I’ve seen, etc.

Funny thing is that on our March cruise we booked a Veranda and picked our cabin.  Given the stockholder credit, the 20% discount and all the perks we got (free drinks, specialty dining, free gratuities, $100 excursion discount) its almost as good a deal as if we got a casino offer for a free cabin.  Not quite, but pretty close.

It’s just a matter of semantics.  The casino offers are designated as “specially priced” and have a special code.

Casino discounts are a different deal - if yo get a good deal, great but it’s not a special code to cause the stockholder benefit to be refused.

True.  My point was that sometimes the casino rates, along with booking perks, etc. and the ability to select your cabin can almost be as good a deal as getting a "free cabin" casino offer.

I looked at a free casino offer I received recently and it states:

Offers are not transferable, apply to new bookings only and are not combinable with select offers including, but not limited to, complimentary beverage packages, Interline, other Casino offers, Travel Agent or Friends and Family rates, Shareholder benefits and Early Pay Offers.

I've booked on many a casino rate, and never ever had an issue getting my stockholder credit.  My upcoming cruise is my first cruise that is "free" as a casino cruise-just paying the port taxes, and I didn't even try getting stockholder credit.  The credit is the only reason I am not really upset about the huge drop in stock price because I've gotten so much value from the stockholder credit over the years!  At $250 per cruise for a 2 week cruise, and there was many a year I went on two week cruises, I've done OK now that my stock is well under water.

Exactly.  Casino rate is a huge difference from Casino free cruise.  I’ve never had a problem getting my CCL OBC with a casino discount.

No to SH credit on "free" casino cruise, yes to SH credit on casino offer.  That's the case for me with free Eurodam in November and casino rate on NA in December.  I submitted my share info for both at the same time. I knew the freebie would be denied (figured I'd try it anyway).  It was approved for NA.

Back when I sailed Zuiderdam, that wasn't a free cabin offer but it was deeply discounted.  Something like $299/pp for 11 nights in an interior.  That was the first time I've ever been denied a SH credit.

My typical fares are discounted about 30%, I think.  I just know that if I'm pricing a sailing, once I log in the price drops.
