Had a friend who just got back from a Princess cruise, They purchased a Coke card and could not use it for room service or other places. How does the Coke Card work on Celebirty?

You can't use it for room service or for canned drinks, Only fountain drinks. It can be hard to get waiters to serve you because they aren't getting tips off them. Usually we had to go up to the bar to get them, no big deal there, just slightly annoying . You can use them in the dining room, but again service didn't seem to be as good as it was for folks who weren't using the cards. Cost was around $40 including the gratuity they included for our Century cruise in December.

I have bought soft drink cards on Celebrity every time I cruised on the line. I like them; however, I rarely have an alcoholic drink.
The "cards" are actually a sticker put on your passenger ID/charge card.
You can use the card at most of the bars aboard ship, but not in the dining room.
I have no idea about using them for room service because I've never used room service on a cruise. Good gosh, I like eating with other passengers too much. That's one of the fun things aboard ship -- on on land. I can't remember the last time I've eaten alone in a cafe -- other than going through the drive-up window at a fast food place.

You CAN use the cards in the dining room, but you will get a fountain drink in a glass instead of a canned drink like the people who are buying them one at a time. We did almost every night at dinner on our last cruise.

My card on constellation recently cost $80 fo the 14 day cruise and I did not have any issues anywhere. I was able to get more than one drink from some waiters and the bar waiter in the san marco was a gem and had a drink waiting for me every night and a top up whenever I needed one. I found the card excellent value for money as I only drink soft drinks due to being allergic to alcohol (sad I know) but true!!

Purchase must be made for the entire cruise and not on a day by-day- basis.($4.75 per day, plus 15% gratuity.)

A special sticker is placed on the Signature Card, which will allow unlimited soft drinks by the glass at all bars throughout the ship, except from room service or from the mini-bar. The soda will be served only when the guest is present and one drink at a time. Packages can be purchased at the Cova Cafe (that was a quote from the Zenith Daily).

Enjoy your cruise!

Dear txlnghrn,

It may be worth noting that you can purchase the "Soda Card" in advance through the Celebrity Cruises' web-site.

Soda sticker works at all bars and restaurants including dinner. No cans; that's why not with room service. Never had a problem with getting soda from a waiter. On last Celebrity cruise I let the beverage waiter know that I was a heavy soda drinker the first night. Therafter, two glasses were on the table a soon as I sat down and refills were provided as soon as the glass was empty. He got a personal tip at the end of the cruise.

I am also a heavy soda drinker, I noticed if I gave the server by tha pool a tip at the beginning of the cruise I had a soda delivered everytime he saw my glass was empty. He also received a nice tip at the end of the cruise.

My DH got a soda sticker on our last cruise and we had a great experience. Our bar server in the dining room had it ready and waiting when we came in for dinner and like someone else said, we did give him a personal tip at the end of our cruise. We also found most of the bartenders willing to give us two at a time on the rare occasions that we asked for them. (I don't drink near as much soda as my husband but I want to be clear that we didn't abuse the system and get soda for two people on one card for an entire cruise!).

This was a great value and we never found the fountain sodas to be "flat" or too sweet either, so it was fine not having a can.

I cannot believe that soda cards are as expensive as they are on X. I was reading on another board where you can get them for $25 for the week. Of course, it would be nice if X follows Disney's lead and does away with charging for soda.

 • 2 years later...
We always get at least one soda card. We were frequently given more than one soda at a time at any bar including dinner. The bar servers at dinner always had both coke and shirley temple ready for when we arrived at dinner - my brother's choice seemed to change nightly, so the bar server always brought both. Normally one of my young cousins would drink the extra soda and the server never seemed to be bothered. The coke cup you get is a pretty decent insulator too...

We were able to get sodas in the dining room, and the bar waiters on the back deck of the Waterfall Cafe got to know us, so that they immediately brought our sodas (Coke for my husband, club soda for me) as soon as we sat down. The only place we couldn't use them was in Michael's Club. The cards are also good for Sprite, Diet Coke, Ginger Ale and tonic water (no diet rite).

we have had no problem using them in Michaels club. According to Celebrity's website FAQ's:
Guests with the CoCa-Cola stickers can obtain sodas from all bars throughout the ship and with exception of room service or the mini-bars. The sodas will only be served when the guest is present and one drink at a time.
We have had no problem being served. In fact after the first night or two in the same lounge, the waiter automatically brings us soda as soon as we sit down.
I think the reference to Michael's club was that you couldn't pick up the sticker or souvenir mug.
If you buy your sticker on any day other than the first day, you only pay for the days remaining. In other words, you buy your sticker on Day 2 of 7, you pay for 6 days.

In the Dining Room our bar guy brought 3 Diet Cokes to our table every dinner and refills as well. We tipped him at the end but the cards were worth it. The kids got to know 1 or 2 servers who would even make them a jumbo D Coke so it would last longer. Never a problem!
