Refundable/Non-refundable $$$ Question

I realize -every- situation is different, but, approximately how much more is refundable.

 

For example   if the  non-refundable base rate is $1000.... -about- how much might the refundable base rate be.

It varies from nothing to several hundred $.

Some reports have been, that sometimes, the refundable may be cheaper.  But that is rare.

 

It is what it is, and changes for the same sailing and cabin class.

I have booked refundable deposits that were probably $50-100 more and then I have priced some that were in $1000s lol.......for a room that didn't even cost that much. There are many factors that determine how much it will be. It comes done to what you are willing to pay for in this case, peace of mind if something arises and you need to cancel.

However remember, non-refundable is not totally non-refundable.

 

You lose $100 per person and the remainder is refunded as Future Cruise Credit.

 

It would be a bit strange to pay over $1000 against the potential to lose $100.

I have a reservation, I call today on a different cabin and about rate, hoping it was the same. Well, the guy looked and told me it was more, so I said ok, leave it alone. Well,  now I lost the Non-refundable rate and he cannot find it or add it. I am out over $200. no one so far can fix it. I asked for new copy of trip and was told he can't, the system won't do it. Also my app just keeps spinning... What should I do?????????

Just looked at the Christmas cruise on Wonder for 2022and it was almost $1200pp extra for a refundable rate.  Thank goodness for groups.

The only factor I can figure is what amount RCI randomly feels like tacking on.
