Galveston X ray Security Lately

Back in September, I carried on my bags at Galveston.  The Xray Security Confiscated a pair of TSA approved travel scissors.  I am assuming that they were all "gung ho" and new to the job.

Has anyone had any experience with them lately?

Are they still being over zealous?

I leave Saturday, and need to know if I should chance it.

Thanks

Lisa

TSA has no application at ports.  Each terminal at a port has it's own ISPS code, which is under the USCG, not TSA, and can determine their own standards for what is allowed or not.

Don't know if it would help, but print out what is and isn't allowed on board to contest confiscation. My artificial knees always set off the metal detectors - sometimes I get scanned, sometimes just waved through. My husband has a lot more metal in his spine than I have in my knees, but he never sets off the detector. I offer to show them the scars on my knees, but that's not enough. I guess they have a problem with gray haired elderly women terrorists.
