O'Sheehan's menu question

Kind of off-beat question: Does O'Sheehan's have "toasties" on the menu? DS fell in love with them in Ireland and finding a "proper toastie" in US has been almost impossible (except for one truly English cafe in Davenport, FL).

Not under that name, is there something else you think they can be called?  They have a "Irish/pub" section where fish and chips, Sheppard pie, etc. are on it.

Yes, they do have a grilled cheese and tomato.  It was good.

They do have a grilled cheese sandwich which is what we would call a toastie in Scotland.  It tasted OK but I wouldn't say it is as good as the toasties we have here in Scotland.

Short for tasted sandwich. Basically, you take 2 slices of bread, put your filling in the middle and toast it. You can have pretty much any filling in them usually.

osheehan's is good, especially at 2 or 3 in the morning.

 

purists should note that their shepherd's pie is technically neither shepherd's pie nor cottage pie, as it contains both beef and lamb. (my best guess is that it is mostly beef.)

 

and, just to be clear, and with apologies to mrs. lovett, it contains no actual shepherd, either.

Butter both sides of two slices of bread but ham and grated cheddar cheese in the middle but in a toasted sandwich maker or fry in a pan.

I asked instead of cheese and tomato, could I have cheese and ham...and it appeared within minutes. Just ask. Very accommodating.
