Vista propulsion problems

Recommended Posts

I’m anxious of course about our upcoming Vista journey June 4.

If, engines willing, it embarks as planned, I will try my hand at a Live review, to give reports of how she is faring during that sailing.

Expecting more changes to port times or the inevitable cancellation of Belize once onboard. I’ll report back here. Still excited to be going on a cruise, but this sure it frustrating…

Personally, we would be fine with cancelling Belize.  We stay on the ship there anyway.  What would be bad for us is if they cancelled Roatan.

Please do if you can! We are on the week after you, and while I can have a good time regardless some of the others in our group are getting nervous.

Was on the Vista in March of this year, we made every port but was an hour late getting back to Galveston, once back it took them another hour and half to start debarking and it was 11 am before we got off the ship.

Same here - and OMG there are a few FB peeps (in both of the groups for our sailing) that are just having all manner of fits worrying about it.

Well, this confirms my suspicions from my earlier thread.

We’re scheduled to embark on tomorrow’s sailing and we got an email last night saying we had an itinerary change. They reversed the order of our ports so now everyone’s excursions & onboard activities are all screwed up and we will be in Cozumel on a day with FOUR ships instead of by ourselves.

First world problems.

I mean, I guess. But we are paying good money for this trip and so are many others - I have a hard time believing that the entire ship is filled with casino cruisers who get to sail all week for less than a hundred bucks.

It's ultimately not the end of the world and I'm still very excited/grateful to be able to sail, but I also think that people like us who are possibly paying thousands of dollars for their trips have the right to be a little frustrated if Carnival is changing things at the last second (which messes up people's plans and costs them their hard-earned money). For example, lots of people on our particular sailing now have wasted tons of money on non-refundable, independently booked shore excursions since the itinerary was completely changed less than 48 hours prior to sailaway. These changes do have real impacts.

I have to agree with you - these boards seem to be full of posts by people claiming that they have been offered 728 free cruises but have never spent more than $20 on the slots in their entire lives.

Granted, Cruisecritic represents a minute  - very minute proportion of the cruising public, but truly, Carnival and the other cruise lines must actually be selling cruises and not giving them away. After all - even if there are no short term profits, Cash Flow is definitely King.
