We were on RCCL’s New Wonder of the Seas for one of its first US cruises.
to try to contain the smoking stench they put big glass electric sliding doors on the casino.

That didn’t help very much but when you got close enough to activate the door you got the full effect as you entered.

it seems on ships that are sailing in cooler areas the smokers use the casino as their Indoor smoking lounge.😜

mid you win money playing Bingo you have to go to the casino teller to claim your Cash winnings.

RCs casinos are smoking lounges that allow gambling at times no matter the itinerary or weather. But you can't blame the smokers.

Some said no Land based Casino is Non Smoking.

Surprise! Macau has Giant Las Vegas style Resort-Casinos and most are Completely Non Smoking!

Thats really Surprising as their biggest clientele are Chinese that travel to Macau for the legal Gambling and China does nothing to discourage Smoking and A lot of Chinese are smokers.
I am Not bashing the Chinese. My Wife of 36 years is Chinese from Hong Kong.

Huh? Most places in China at least in the big cities have been non-smoking for 5+ years by law. That includes hotel rooms, bars, restaurants etc.

A lot of them took a big financial hit after that law was implemented because less people visited.

When Michael Bayley was recently quizzed about possibly ending Smoking on Casinos on RCCL ships he danced around the subject but said that their Research on the subject showed a probability of Lost Revenue for the Casinos if Smoking was banned.

Most people don't know that cruise ship Casinos are operated by outside companies who Also control Bingo  and on Celebrity ships Deal or no Deal games.

Ever wonder why after Bingo you have to go to the Casino to get Paid your winnings?

With Deal or no Deal on Celebrity you  don't win Cash in the matching case openings but a Match Play you claim in the Casino (unless your match play gets up over  $250-$300 ? dollars) for table game or slot play. No, you cannot exchange that Match Play for Cash.

I did win $200 in match play with Deal or no Deal and playing with "Their Money" on a Celebrity ship and after loading my match play credits into slot machines found that I could Keep any Winnings but Not any of the Match Play money.

I was lucky enough to walk out with $480 of the Casinos Money after spending all of the Match Play money.

The only Big winners I have seen playing Deal or no Deal are the people who get Picked After the 2 normal rounds that get to spin an (Imaginary) Wheel of fortune that has 8 Possible prizes. 4 are a Free Celebrity Caribbean 7 night Cruise for 2 and the other 4 spots are cash prizes. Twice I have seen the person doing the Spin win a Free Cruise. I  was once picked to Play the normal open the Case game and ended up with $128. I would have rather had the Odds of spinning for free Cruise!

Makes a big difference that Celebrity's casinos are non smoking.  When we sail on Royal, we avoid Casino's like the plague.  The stench is awful.

Wish that Royal would also ban smoking-  Makes Celebrity the better option.

I wholeheartedly agree- the stench from the casino wafted into the main dining room on our recent Symphony of the Seas cruise. I felt bad for the hostesses who had to stand in the strong smoke smell, and I'm super glad that our table was in the back area beyond the noxious vile smell.

When smoking was banned from clubs, bars and restaurants years ago, the owners complained it would negatively impact business.  But it never did!  Royal has to do the right thing for all guests and employees and help to prevent disease and death.  Celebrities casino is always as busy as Royals.
